Reef 2 - Dive
Have you tried a dive before?
Your Answer: Yes!
Reply: That’s great! I hoped you enjoyed it. To dive here you will need to check the Medical Questionnaire as every country has different requirements for diving or the Seawalker.
You’re Answer: No!
Reply: You should try! You don’t have to know how to swim, you can still do snorkelling as well. One instructor will take up to 4 people for about 25 minutes. You won’t go below 10m deep. It is very safe and a wonderful way to see the beautiful marine life. PADI recommends that it is not safe to use an underwater camera whilst doing an introduction dive. You will need to pay attention to your instructor.
For diving or the Seawalker please read the Dive Medical Questionnaire to check if you’re healthy!
Note: some boats won’t refund diving or the Seawalker if you have not read and understood the Medical Questionnaire!

You’re Answer: No!
Reply: Maybe do an outer Reef or Ribbon Reef. Try the Dive it’s great!
What is a Pontoon?
Answer: A pontoon is a large metal island set up on the Outer Great Barrier Reef. You can get the snorkelling equipment there. They will have an Underwater Water Theatre where you can see the fish being fed. Regularly the Glass Bottom Boat and Semi Submarine will go on tours from the Pontoon. Options like Seawalker, diving or guided snorkel tours are available. Lunch is served on the boat, but you can take your plate of yummy food to the many tables available on the Pontoon. Change rooms and showers are also located on the Pontoon.
Also a Helicopter Pad will be located near the Pontoon. So if you want to do a Scenic Reef Flight or fly home by Helicopter you can. Fly out then boat back or fly out and back home is also ok.
What is Seawalker?
Answer: Seawalker is a 20 minute walk on a platform set up under the Pontoon. It may also be on sand. You hold a side rail and walk with a plastic air bubble over your head. You need to pay attention to the Diving/Seawalker Medical Questionnaire to do the Seawalker. A dive instructor will watch over you and attract many marine life towards you. You can breathe from your nose or mouth. Wear glasses or even make up. You will look great in the photos!
